“Laughter is immeasurable. Be joyful though you have considered all the facts.”
Yes, my blog’s been quiet for awhile, but I’ll be resuming doing reviews later this month and will be spotlighting some guest authors.
2014 was a difficult year for my family. My father-in-law passed away in August after months in the hospital. He was only 61. It made for a difficult summer and holiday season.
I also had some illness of my own. I got a serious bout of food poisoning in December that almost landed me in the hospital and had lingering effects for weeks (hey-at least I lost some weight; not that I’d recommend this as a weight loss method, but I like to find silver linings!). A few weeks after recovering, I got the flu, as did my husband and a good portion of everyone I know here in the Midwestern U.S. I’m finally starting to feel a sense of normalcy returning, although normal is never the same after the loss of a loved one.
I don’t share any of this to elicit sympathy. Through hardship we grow, and in their midst, I also have numerous things to be grateful for. Like I continue to sell books. And my husband got a promotion at work. And my problem kitty is doing so well on Prozac. And I have great friends who have helped through the low points of the past year. I even managed to get some writing done, and hopefully you’ll get to see the fruits of those labors this year.
My wish for everyone is blessings in this year and a measure of peace when facing life’s difficulties. Laughter is immeasurable…
