Review: Spell Bound by Stephanie Julian
This set contains a lot of books, some by authors I’ve read before. I chose to review one by an author I haven’t read before, and I wasn’t disappointed. This book drew on the history of the Etruscans and built a fully realized world. The heroine, Shea, is on the run with her young brother after their parents are murdered. Both have magic and are learning just what they can do. They turn to the hero, Gabriel, for protection and help. He’s a flawed hero with wounds of his own. The growing relationship between Gabriel and Shea is well-paced for the most part. There were only a few moments where I had that “come on already” moment (which I have in almost every book–a little bit is part of the fun and it’s a fine line for authors to walk).
The secondary love story was also well done. I really want to check out more by this author. I give this five cat kisses. I hope the rest of the books in this bundle are just as good!

So why do I like writing erotic romance? I like being able to push beyond traditional boundaries. I like dealing with a female character who is growing and evolving – questioning her sexual boundaries and pushing past them. My stories usually include menage a trois. It is great fun to write a heroine choosing between two equally appealing heroes… or more.<
These aren’t women who just jump into bed with anyone. They find themselves in an unusual situation – something exciting and erotic – but a situation where they have to push themselves beyond their comfort level. As a result, they grow as a person. So often fear holds us back – of what others will think of us, of what we will think about ourselves – and we don’t follow our hearts. These women push past that fear.

In 2013 Sara’s novel UNTAMED won two PRISM awards–Dark Paranormal and Best of the Best. Sara has been a lover of both the paranormal and romance novels for years. Her sci-fi/fantasy/romance obsession began years ago with the TV Series STAR TREK and an enormous crush on Captain Kirk. That sci-fi obsession soon evolved into the love of all types of fantasy/paranormal; vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and of course shape shifters. Sara is married to her college sweetheart, Will. They live in New York with their 4 boys. For a full list of Sara’s books and reading order, please visit her website at www.sarahumphreys.com
These days, she’s more likely to have her nose in her laptop and her head (and the rest of her) at a favorite writing spot, but she’s still reading either her latest manuscript or her friends’ books, or helping authors bring their books to readers with her formatting business, www.formatting4U.com. A PRISM and Golden Leaf Award winner, Judi is thee author of lighthearted romantic comedies. She lives in suburban Philadelphia with her own menagerie—which just might include a few of the two-legged kind.
