“You promised no one would make me eat haggis” #MySexySaturday

293a6-headerforlynn_sexysaturdayThis week’s My Sexy Saturday theme is Our Sexy Thanksgiving, celebrating love and family. My excerpt cheats a little, as it talks about a feast for St. Andrew’s Day, which is observed Nov. 30. The heroine, Chloe, is visiting her boyfriend’s family in Scotland. Roberto is Jorge’s uncle and Adam is his brother. The just finished discussing a mysterious website related to shape-shifters. Roberto and Jorge are both shape-shifters. This snippet is from To Growl or to Groan, the second book in my Hidden Lines trilogy.

Roberto smiles at me. “I say we don’t worry about it. Tomorrow is St. Andrew’s Day and we’ll celebrate. Have you had haggis before, Chloe?”

I wrinkle my nose and turn to Jorge. “You promised no one would make me eat haggis.”

They all laugh, the Web site momentarily left to rest.

Jorge winks at me. “No one will make you eat it. I never said it wouldn’t be served. You might like white pudding better. And there will be plenty of neeps and tatties.”

“I can do turnips and potatoes. And white pudding doesn’t sound nearly as gross as haggis. Organ meats are not my thing.”

Adam snorts. “No one said there wouldn’t be plenty of leftover haggis, either. I think Dad’s the only one who actually eats it.”

We all have a good laugh before heading to bed.

Right now the first book in the trilogy, To Hiss or to Kiss, is only 99 cents. Books two and three are each only $2.99!

A My Sexy Saturday Date Night

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a snippet for My Sexy Saturday, so I thought I’d kick off November with a date night snippet from To Growl or to Groan.

After we step out into the chilly night, I take Jorge’s hand. “So where are we going?”

He points to Adam and Fiona’s house. “You up for walking?”

“I think I can do a quarter mile.”

He offers me his arm with a wink. “My lady.” It’s the same thing he said the first time he led me to his bedroom to have sex. If nothing else, this night will probably end with that particular activity.

I take his arm and we walk out of the pool of the light over the porch. It’s a cold night, but clear. Snow crunches under our feet as we walk, our steps in sync. Through our connection, I feel his comfort walking next to me, and it reminds me of other walks we’ve taken at night. It’s good to have a boyfriend with a cat’s night vision.

Will he soon by my fiancée with a cat’s night vision? A thrill of anticipation runs through me. Underneath the ease of walking side by side, enjoying each other’s presence, I pick up a note of anticipation, or maybe even a bit of anxiety, from him too.

“I hope you don’t mind that our dinner is at my brother’s house. It’s practically impossible to find a private room on Christmas and I wanted us to be alone. I also know how much you love my cooking.”

She’s unready to face her past, but she may have no choice.

It may be her best friend who gets surprisingly accurate hunches about the future, but Chloe just  knows something big –and bad—is about to happen. She telepathically communicates with animals and shape-shifters, but her growing psychic abilities are beginning to scare her. She suspects her mother also had abilities, and when those powers grew beyond her control, she left her daughter and husband when Chloe was only ten.

Despite her worries, she won’t let anything interrupt her trip to Scotland to meet her shape-shifter boyfriend’s family. Meeting Jorge’s close-knit family and spending the Holidays with them is worry enough!

When his sister goes missing, her disappearance is linked to a shadowy organization that knows exactly how to hide her from her shape-shifting relatives’ tracking ability. What they don’t count on is Chloe’s psychic gift.

In the rush to find Jorge’s sister, Chloe loses control of her ability and accidentally harms an animal’s psyche. Ridden with guilt, she’s afraid her ability just might destroy her relationship with Jorge. She isn’t ready to find her mother and face her past, but she may not have a choice if she wants to ensure she never harms anyone again.

What readers are saying about To Growl or to Groan:

4* from Sizzling Hot Books: “If you like shapeshifters, some sexy romance, and a good mystery as well then I would definitely recommend To Growl Or To Groan.”

“I enjoyed reading more in this book about Chloe’s exploration of her abilities and past as well as her HOT relationship with Jorge. I will be looking for more from this author for sure. This book is a light and fun read with adventure, passion and a few unexpected twists and turns. Highly recommend reading this book.”

“I liked the twist with the shifter and non-shifter relationships in this book. It made it refreshing to read. I thought Katya Armock did a great job with the storyline and I was kept interested from the very beginning.”

Turns out there is some residual energy in me… #OurSexyYear

293a6-headerforlynn_sexysaturdayIt’s a celebration on this My Sexy Saturday, which has been going strong for a year now! This week I’m sharing a snippet from To Growl or to Groan, book 2 in the Hidden Lines series. It’s currently available as an ebook for only $3.99. Book 1 is still on sale for 99 cents.

He wastes no time taking care of me in another way since we’ve been waiting long enough on the train and then the taxi ride here, not to mention the time it took to check in. I’m so ready I can practically feel myself orgasming just from his touch.

When he runs his tongue up my slit and over my clit, I shudder and jerk up so hard most of my back loses contact with the bed. He’s going to fucking kill me with his tongue. That’s all it will take. Not that I’m complaining—at all.

His tongue continues its work with renewed vigor, laving my clit until I’m one tightly wound nerve centered under his tongue. Nothing else is reality but the connection happening at my core. I rise higher and higher toward the pinnacle where I will explode.

Then he adds a finger, two, and my screams are deafening. The profanity flies freely from my mouth so fast it’s impossible to understand what I’m saying. Not that I care.

He pulls back and I melt into the bed, my eyes closed, my body a pile of useless muscles. I’m sure I have no energy left in me. Not even an ounce.

He slides his body up mine, leaving a trail of wet kisses and a tingling warmth in the wake of his sensuous mouth and hands. His touch sparks me to life, my body writhing of its own accord, my hips rising to increase contact with his body.

Turns out there is some residual energy in me. My tongue traces a path from behind his ear to his shoulder, where I lightly nip him. His taste is exquisite, a blend of man and spice. He moans under my touch. I wrap my legs around him, pulling him closer to me. Any space is too much.

She’s unready to face her past, but she may have no choice.

My favorite vibrator… #MSS51

This week’s My Sexy Saturday theme is right up my alley: Shifters. Jorge is a jaguar shifter who is in a relationship with animal psychic Chloe (who can also talk to shifters telepathically). This snippet from To Snarl or to Snuggle features one of my favorite aspects of cats…

I feel the slight tickle of his nibble near my ankle.

“No falling asleep. I’m not done taking care of you.” The feel of his tongue and hands running up my leg wake me up pretty damn fast.

“OK, you’ve definitely got me to full alertness.”

His mumbled reply is a hum against my skin as he nears my core. My body clenches in anticipation, but he continues his journey over my hip. As his tongue slicks my belly, he kicks in his purr full tilt.

My voice is breathy. “Ah, my favorite vibrator.”

His laugh bursts in a tickle of cool air across the moist skin of my abs. He lightly pinches one of my nipples, closing his mouth over the other with no further comment on my likening him to a vibrator. All men really should have the ability to purr. I’m damn lucky that I got one for myself.

His tongue swirls my areola, then he sucks it hard, and…what was I thinking again?

She just wants to make it through her whirlwind wedding. Too bad life isn’t cooperating.

Chloe thinks her life is just about perfect. She’s finally got her psychic abilities under control, her relationship with her father has never been better, and she’s finally marrying her shape-shifter boyfriend Jorge. But when a teenage shape-shifter in need of help leads Jorge’s rival to their door, Chloe’s perfect life deserts her. Chloe’s mother and grandmother find themselves in a psychic feud that leaves Chloe caught in the wake, and a woman with suspect motives insinuates herself into Chloe’s life. Throw in a shocking revelation about the origins of her family’s extrasensory abilities, and she’s not sure she’ll make it down the aisle in one piece, let alone live long enough for a happily ever after…

And she thought meeting her in-laws was tough.

Something’s wrong… #MSS49

This week’s My Sexy Saturday focuses on heroines. This snippet is from To Hiss or to Kiss, book 1 of the Hidden Lines series. It’s currently on sale for 99 cents. All three books of Chloe and Jorge’s story are now available.

I remember the day I knew my dad had resigned himself to the fact that my mother wasn’t coming back. It was about two years after she left. There was an open house at my school to kick off the new year. I had a teacher who was new to the district, and she was introducing herself to all the parents. When she got to my dad, she asked if she’d also be meeting my mother. My father paled but managed to answer with a shaky no.

The teacher tried to cover her gaffe, but being forced to say out loud that my mother wasn’t in our lives was a turning point for my dad. After that, he became a ghost. He always took care of my physical needs. I was never hungry or denied rides to extracurricular activities. He came to all my tennis matches. But he was never really there.

When I finally fall asleep, I dream my mother is trying to smother me with a pillow. My dad watches, eyes forlorn.

I awake with a start. My first thought is that I wish Jorge would have come crashing into my dream to save me. I glance over at his sleeping form. His T-shirt is twisted, revealing the shadows of his rippling abs in the moonlight.

With tentative hands, I reach out and lightly stroke his bare skin. He shudders at my touch, and I start to recoil.

His hand moves lightning quick to stop me, and I look up into his penetrating green eyes.

“You OK?” He is surprisingly alert for just having woken. Then again, cats do wake up pretty fast if they think something’s wrong.
