Review: The Capture blends sweet and erotic aspects of long-term love

The Capture is the latest Invitation to Eden story. It also happens to be part of Erika Wilde’s Marriage Diaries series, which follows Jillian and Dean as they rekindle their passion after twenty years of marriage. This story has some smoking hot scenes, like all the Invitation to Eden stories. There is a nice balance between playing out the couple’s sexual fantasy and seeing them as themselves. This is a quick read that is as sweet as it is erotic. I give it 4 cat kisses.

There isn’t much that Jillian Noble can resist when it comes to her sexy, gorgeous husband, Dean.  She’s become very independent in her daily life, but privately, behind closed doors, Jillian finds she loves submitting to her husband’s more dominant, erotic demands.

When Dean surprises her with an Invitation to Eden and promises to fulfill one of her secret fantasies, she can’t wait to find out what’s in store.  While on the mysterious island, she’s auctioned off to a rogue pirate and imprisoned as his slave. What he commands of her is shocking, but there is no denying this dark, forbidden stranger, or the exquisite pleasure that comes with her ultimate surrender.

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.

So, why the new pen name?

As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.

Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.

I’m also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates. Sign up to receive my newsletter for updates and news!

Review: Until You a feel good read

Until You is a decent first effort from debut author Melody Heck Gatto. It’s a straightforward story of two people who’ve carry past hurts, either physical or mental, meeting while they both vacation far from their respective homes. They have a good connection, as do their dogs. And I must admit I’m a sucker for well-portrayed pets.

The writing style is simple and easy to read for the most part. The only thing that threw me was that the story has head hopping, otherwise known as third person omniscient, and also has breaks in the middle of scenes. These types of mid-scene breaks are usually reserved for stories told in third person limited as a signal that the POV has switched from one character to the other, so they felt unnatural and unnecessary to me in a third person omniscient story.

In the end, this is a quick read (took me about an hour and half). Don’t expect to find deep character development or heart-wrenching scenes. It’s a sweet story that keeps things light (even when discussing tragedies and trials in the characters’ lives) and offers some steamy sex scenes. I give it three and half cat kisses.

Trina just wanted to wake up each morning and go to bed every night at peace with the tragedy that was her past. She had been through hell the last year. After losing something she never knew she had, then almost losing her life, things were finally looking up. Desperately wanting to move on, Trina and her dog, Toby, decided the beach was where they wanted to go. Maybe they would stay here and call this home.

The east coast was as far away from home as Sam was going to get. He was still reeling from a losing season riddled with injuries. He was emotionally and physically exhausted. He needed to clear his head before he embarked on a summer of make believe, dress up and baby dolls, with his niece.

Sam never counted on meeting her. The beautiful blonde with the edgy look, amazing voice and hot body. She blindsided him. Before he knew what had happened, he had fallen hard and fast for her. After only one passionate night he couldn’t imagine going back to the west coast without her.

Trina didn’t see romance coming until it was too late. One night of sex with the hot surfer boy turned into more than she was prepared for. She had demons in her past that he didn’t yet understand, and she wasn’t sure she was ready to let Sam in. Could only a few days with him change the rest of her life?
